User Comments:Name: Irene Imbrogno Date: 2002-05-24 Comments: The sculpture of Giuliano de'Medici,is that of a handsome, elegant man.His head is tilted in profile, showing a long, strong neck, and muscular body. His visible eye is an empty socket. The facial expression is somewhat pensive, though the body is relaxed. He seems to be taking a respite from his military duties. The sculpture is displayed before a single de Medici tomb. The statues of Dusk and Dawn are beneath it. There is a General's baton across Giuliano's lap, showing a high military rank. Name: Irene Imbrogno Date: 2002-07-12 Comments: I would like to correct a remark I made about Giuliano's tomb above. The statues on either side of the table, before his tomb, are of Night and Day, NOT of Dusk and Dawn. Name: Unknown Date: 2004-07-25 Comments: Giuliano de' Medici is depicted as a man of great strength and power in Michelangelo's Tomb of Duke Giuliano. The Medici family played a major role in Michelangelo's success as an artist.
